What does communication mean to you?

To me, communication is the use of any outlet--language, art, music, etc.--to establish a common understanding between two individuals/parties. Finding a mode of communication with another individual can be challenging, but I believe it is possible to connect with anybody, no matter the race, language, or disability. Language is, in my opinion, the most effective mode of communication. It transcends all other forms of communication in that it forces full immersion in a foreign culture. While language requires more effort and time, I believe it allows us to step inside the shoes of a foreigner and thus create a stronger, more intimate relationship with people.

  1. とてもいい ブログです!わたしも そう 思います。I especially like the part where you talk about how important language is in communication. While this is obvious, I think that you are aware of what it entails to use speech in order to effectively communicate with others who may have a different background or understanding from your own. I'm sure you will do well on your Podcasting Project. がんばってください!

  2. なんばさん!あなたのブログのwallpaperがすきです。I agree with your point on the importance of language in communication. Evidence of your point is given quite frequently in class. The differences and subtleties of two languages is definitely what forces us, as learners, to consequently understand the culture behind the language. I'm confident that your insights on language will be indicative of the quality that your podcast will have!
